Research

My main research interests are semantic web technologies and their practical applications to research data management, combining Information Science, Computer Science knowledge and solid engineering.

I am particularly interested in graph database applications, database modelling, information system architectures, software quality and software testing. I apply my research to the design and construction of the research data repositories of the future.

EPISA

  • (May 2016 - May 2019) EPISA-—-Entity and Property Inference for Semantic Archives

Integrate the largest collection of sources for the History of Portugal in the digital world. This is the main goal of the new INESC TEC’s project entitled EPISA—Entity and Property Inference for Semantic Archives, which will start in January 2019. source

TAIL

  • (May 2016 - May 2019) TAIL—Research data management from creation to deposit and sharing

The purpose of this project is to develop and test instruments, work flows and description models to manage data in research groups. The project follows groups in different areas of creation, management and publication of research data, making them researchable and quoted. This project allows to identify opening problems and monitor National and European initiatives, namely the tour of research infrastructures and the European Open Science Cloud. Over the project, there will be services in University of Porto, INESC TEC and CIBIO monitoring the adopted instruments tests, considering its use in stable support services to the researchers. source
